[SOLVED] Can I mix two sticks of HyperX Fury Ram?

I have recently upgraded to 1 stick of 2400 MHz Ram over my prior 2 4gb sticks. I was wondering if I could put 1 of the 4gb sticks in as well so that I could have 20gb of Ram over just 16.

RAM modules are only guaranteed in the form sold (from the same pack). So it's a 50/50 gamble whether a new set of modules will work with the old. This is because the manufacturing of the modules changes frequently, making them the same make/model/timings is irrelevant. That is just a way to try and minimise potential conflict, but not eliminate it.

So the only way to find out, is to buy it and try, however because it is a gamble and can cause conflict when you least expect it, best practice is to buy a whole new pack.

Adding extra memory has no guarantee to be compatible with existing memory. As with any memory that has never been tested together before, you won't know until you try that particular combination.
