Can I mount Corsair H80i (GT or V2) With H50 Backplate?

I have been running my 4GHZ E5450 on a 790i Ultra SLI for some time now, while keeping it cooled with a Corsair H50. It has kept it mostly cool for its time in use, but it recently has failed. I'm looking to replace it with either a corsair H55 or something better - open to suggestions. Currently am bidding on an unopened H55.

However, I've noticed that corsair doesn't officially support for 775 on any of their products anymore. I know I can purchase a backplate to fit a H80 to my board, and consequently the H80i - not sure about GT or V2, but I was wondering if there's any chance that a H50's backplate would work. As far as I can tell, unless they changed the thickness of the screws, I should be able to just screw in the risers they provide and screw it in place.

Any input will be appreciated. :)

The OEM for Corsair hasn't changed since their first outing. Asetek are yet their cooling partners and from what I've dealt with working on other similar coolers since Asetek holds the patent for CLC's with a pump on the CPU block then there are subtle changes to their mounting mechanism and the screws used for said mounting.

If you should stick with Corsair's CLC's I'd suggest looking into units that had to work in tandem with the rounded backplate whereby you had to use the metal studs to get the screws to bite into when mounting the cooler to your cpu's cooler mount. If you have the space internally to mount a thicker rad, get this H70 and if you'd need the bracket alone look here.
