I have 2 SSD and I was wondering is it possible to move something from one to another? My 128 is halfway full and I just got a 240. Or does it not matter? I was hoping to use my 128 as my boot and my 240 as my gaming.

Solution
If you want to move games, follow this guide: http://lifehacker.com/how-to-move-a-pc-game-to-another-hard-drive-without-re-1714706774
(use Option 2 - I don't recommend Symlinks as they have caused issues for me in the past).

Moving programs (non games) usually requires uninstalling and reinstalling them, and probably isn't worth the space anyway. If you keep your system drive to OS & Programs you should be okay (assuming you don't have a 50GB Adobe suite or similar).

So if you move your documents, downloads, etc, plus games to the second drive you should have enough space. Also probably worth moving your Pagefile to the second drive too: http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=faq-Windows-10&faq=52

I want to move WoW to the 240.

See this for preserving space on that 120GB drive:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

If you want deeper specifics, you're going to have to give us some specifics.

Yea I have it set to where the new stuff gets put on my HDD (pics, videos, documents, etc.) Just wanted to move my game that is currently on the 128 to the 240 SSD since it is currently on the same SSD as the OS.

How large is that game install?

I didn't use steam or origin to download my game..

WoW is 57.1 GB

As long as I don't have to re-install it lol I hate having to set that crap up again 😛

Hmm if only that had crossed my mind earlier.... lol maybe you shouldn't assume that I'm not also looking it up myself while also asking on here so I can get the fastest and best answer.... If it is such a hassle for you to just reply without being a jerk then just don't reply. :)

Thank you. I figured with it taking up that much space it should be on it's own drive lol. especially with how often they come out with new games and the folder tends to bloat after it's been installed for a while.

You've got a bunch of people here helping you and you can see clearly from the earliest replies that people are asking you what data you want to move.

Some people (including myself) have assumed that you're unfamiliar with the sorts of data that eat up drive space and have taken the time to give generic advice around common offenders like how to move documents, downloads, pagefile and games (on the two biggest platforms, being Origin and Steam). You reply telling people you've already done those things or they're not relevant to you, and then finally, after a number of replies, you tell people it's WoW specifically that you're trying to move. That question could have been answered with a simple Google search saving everyone's time.

We're all here to help people with IT issues, we don't get paid. I'm just encouraging you (and others reading this) to take a little time to see if you can answer questions yourself before starting a thread and asking for people's time. We're happy to give our time, that's why we're here. But I prefer when it's directed where it's actually needed.

I actually replied to someone else who asked what exactly was I trying to move right before you posted. So I did say it earlier on. Sorry you didn't see that. And again, I was using Google while using this forum. Also, you didn't have to "waste your time". You could have simply just not replied. As long as someone gets help and gets the answer they need then I don't see it as wasting time but thank you anyway.

So far. I renamed the original folder so the app would have to search for the copied folder. So far it seems to be working. Just have to make sure there are no hiccups. When I look at the storage available it says 87%. So I'm assuming it was copied correctly. Thank you for helping 😀

I'm guessing you meant to reply to me and not USAFRet there?

It's really not a big deal at all and never was from my point of view. I did use one "!" in my post, but it certainly wasn't intended harshly. I was just trying to make the very simple point that it's good practice to try google before posting here, that all. The forum rules encourage people to do just that. But then you said I was "being a jerk", which required a bit more explanation from me and makes the whole thing look like a big deal.

Just for the record too, whether I was a jerk or not I was the first one to actually answer your question 😉

Anyway, glad you got it sorted and all the best.

Words can be mistaken over the internet so if you did not mean it harshly then I apologize. I am not one of those people who just go to one website to look for answers. I research on multiple sites to get the best answer the fastest way possible. So saying I should try looking for things on my own before posting came off as you assuming I was being lazy and not wanting to do my own work lol.
