If the intel processor is not a K variant, then it can not be overclocked sadly. 🙁 If you buy a K processor, then you should be able to.

Well technically you can overclock non-k Intel chips. Usually there is a limit though. That is assuming the motherboard allows the CPU to be overclocked at all.

I've ran a non-k i5 3570 on a z77 motherboard that let me overclock the CPU to 4Ghz. After that it wouldn't let it go further, but it's still something.
