I am very new to the PC gaming scene but am interested in overclocking (and thereby overvolting) my GTX 1050 ti from Zotac and was just wondering if the fact it lacks a pci-e connection will be problematic.
There are protections built into the card so it's close to impossible to do damage. Use MSI Afterburner for overclocking, its the go to program for it.
The card uses 75W already. The PCIe slot provides 75W. So there's not much extra available. The GPU may be protected but the MB might not. I own the same card, and I've overclocked it some. The difference is real but not large.
