Can i overclock i5-3570k cpu to 4.5ghz with Scythe Mugen 2?

what is the maximum clock(ghz)what i can overclock,and playing with i5-3470k?

is it possible the 4.5-4.7 Ghz with the Scythe Mugen 2?

Or preferably i need buy 2500k?

Do you mean i5-3570K? If yes, there is almost 100% certainty that the i5-3570K will reach4.5Ghz with good cooler like Hyper 212. A scythe mugen 2 is a monster so you got good chance to reach 4.7 even.

The issue is really how much heat you are willing to deal with. I had the Intel® Core™ i5-3570K running stable at 4.6GHz with the Corsair H100 and it was just under 90c. So reaching 4.5 to 4.7 may not be a problem but you may not one to keep it running long.

has any one seen what temps it gets at 4.5 with a h80?? as i have them both just waiting for a mobo.

You may get some temperatures close to what I have with my H100. I have read that some people think that it blocks some of the air flow out of the case because of the size of the radiator.

i will most likely have it as an intake as i have a 200mm fan at the top exhausting but i might even swap it out for 2x120, also what speed do get run your fans at?
