CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 3.40 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: 760 GTX MSI 2.0 GB
PSU: Corsair CX500 — 80 PLUS® Bronze Certified
is this power supply enough to handle an overclocked gpu?

Solution
The PSU will fail eventually no matter what you do. (All PSUs have a limited life) Overclocking your GPU will increase the size and frequency of large demand spikes which can hasten the degradation of any PSU.

I would not recommend overclocking on that PSU. I would not put that PSU in a high-performance gaming system.

It's almost 2 years old. Do you think it's safe?
