Can I overlcock with this setup and cooler?

So I am getting a second gaming PC. My parenths broke up so I am debatting on getting a second one.

The PC is exactly the same as the one im using now, but only a different cooler. Can the cooler i will be listening take up some good high overclocks? And if so, till what GHz can it hold a overclock?

GTX 1080 8GB
i7 7700k 4.2 ( will be overclocking )
NZXT Kraken X52 Liquid cooler
Crucial 16GB
275GB SSD Crucial

well, the key here is what mobo you have. Yes, you have an OC'able CPU, and a good one at that. But unless you have a Zxxx based mobo, you cannot OC it.
With your kraken cooler, you may be able to get 4.7/4.8 ghz with it. But it's different with every chip.

well, the mobo is more relevant than even a cooler. He could OC with a stock cooler, maybe not by much, but still could.

without a z170/z270 there is no OCing.

Asus Prime Z270-A
or
Asus ROG Strix Z270E Gaming

But he said anything starting with Zxxx doesnt work.?

Only Z allows OCing. buy based on feature set, both good boards.

either one is good. Whichever is the cheapest and available in stock in your location. Performance wise they are nearly identical.

Is that cpu cooler I listed a good cooler tho? Did people do tests with it? I'd like to know the temps of the cpu with this cooler.

the cooler is a very good one. What temps you get will depend on too many variables to be exact. e.g Ambient temps, additional cooling fans, what OC you may have on the CPU etc.

Typically the guideline for most CPU's would be

idle temps 28-35c depending on processor.
gaming temps 40-55c again, game dependant
full load stress temps 65-80. Most people would want to keep their stress temps under 80c. But this is a guideline, others choose to run hotter.

I will be streaming on it aswell. Hopefully that Cooler will keep the temps correct and wont bottleneck the performance cuz it gets too hot. I got a bad history with coolers. Thats why I am asking so much

well, unless your gaming at 4k, there is no point in changing up. The 1080 is good enough for everything else
