Can I pair a e5-2670 v3 with an Asus X99-DELUXE ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard. I'm pretty sure I can but, pcpartpicker is telling me its not

its probably not on the list because it came out later than the release of the cpu its the exact same socket so im thinking it should work

Then go for it if you're so sure.

Just because it's the same socket doesn't mean the BIOS is capable of recognizing and being able to use the CPU.

Granted the list might not be fully updated and the latest BIOS update available from ASUS might enable functionality; however, there's no release note for the newest BIOS that can confirm or deny whether the CPU would work.
