Hello guys! planning to get the 7700k beast soon, i curently have the msi b150m pro vdh mobo
i can see its supported on msi's site but just to be sure
thanks

To use a Kaby Lake Processor (i7 7700k) you will need to get a 2 series motherboard (Z270, B250). You can use a B150 board with a 7700k, but only if the BIOS has been factory updated to fit the 7700k. Since you already have it, no such update occurred. You can send it to the manufacturer to update, but its obviously not free. Unless you want to get a new motherboard, I would suggest the i7-6700k. Its almost just as powerful and will fit your motherboard.

And you won't have to worry about that portion of memory that even the OS can't access for Netflix 4k.

well thanks for the replies , my motherboards bios atm was build on 22/1/2016 so i guess its about a year old , but here
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B150M-PRO-VDH.html#down-bios on the top 3 bios updates u can see that they added support for new intel cpus
so if im right then i can update it to the last version and i will be able to have success with the 7700k right? 😀

i also have a skylake i5 6500 atm so getting a skylake cpu to update it first , wont be a problem

What happened? Did you manage to make it work just updating the BIOS?
