here they say it is gpu is compatible.
also on the net a lot of people are able to run the game with gpu smaller dans 2 go

It clearly isn't saying that... read that article again.

From the article:

GTX 260 is DirectX 11 compatible and supports D3D_FEATURE_LEVEL_10_0

The 260 is will be hardware limited even though it is compatible with DX11 it only supports DX10 or older feature levels.

There are DX11 games(like the one you're trying to run) that won't work on a DX10 card.... period. They just won't.

There are some hardware features on newer DX11 cards that you won't just magically "add" to your DX10 card through software... it's...

when i speak about definitive edition i speak about the version that is new, not the aoe 2 from 10 years ago.
just to be clear.

anyone could tell also his opinion on whether it will work or not? ( my gpu is just a gtx 260..)

HI ibought it and when i click play i receive this message

I'm not french, but the error clearly states that your GPU is not supported.

The GTX 260 is a DX10 card... if the game uses DX11 features it won't work on your card and you won't be able to do anything about it.

Even if DX11 feature level is installed, your card won't be able to use features that require newer hardware found on DX11 cards... having the DX11 api won't solve anything, your card will only support fully DX10 or lower feature levels.
That's the main cause your game is not launching... you need a true DX11 GPU to run the game.

The other VRAM warning won't make the game not even start... you'll maybe encounter textures not loading in game and the need to lower the resolution to get the game playable. The real problem is that you have a DX10 card... you'll solve it just by buying a newer GPU.

You should've checked the official requirements for the game before buying it... they clearly state a DX11 card as a minimum requirement.
