Can i play crysis 3 on Gt 240? Dx 10.1 supported

Confirm answer please. i'm very disappointed :-( i heard they only support directx 11.

i waited so long for the game but...

No, you cannot, sorry. Even if DX10.1 was supported, the GT240 is not powerful enough to run the game at playable framerates.

I need a new graphics card... a 670 is about a good as my 295 :/ (I tested my friends 670 against my 295) so either a 670 or a 680... or two 670s in sli if it works out cheaper

the 670 is about two tiers higher than your 295. A 660 or 660Ti will offer tha same performance already.

the 670 is about two tiers higher than your 295. A 660 or 660Ti will offer tha same performance already.

I tested it against his in my machine and both ran most of the games at around the same fps (670 was usually about 4-5 fps ahead) the only times it lost out were on games that did not function well with sli (world of warcraft for example and it lost out even more in directx 11 mode)
but I worked out that I should be able to afford a 680 in a few months time

Did both machines have the same specs? It could be that his card was being bottlenecked and thus you could see the 670 really stretch it's legs.

it was the same machine we just swapped the cards out
