Question Can I plug 3080Ti into my msi mag z490 tomahawk?

Hey there so I'm thinkin about upgrading to 3080 or 3080 ti, but I've notice that 3080 has 4gen pcie and tomahawk has 3gen pcie. Is it going to be a problem? How much perfomance am I gonna loose?
I've searched the internet but couldn't find a distinct answer.

If you are super concerned, you can always pick up an 11th gen CPU and get PCIe 4.0.

11700K are only about $150 on ebay.

No reason not too. The 10900K performs as well or better in some games than the 11700K and 11900K. Just has a little more cache thanks to its two extra cores. 11th gen was a bit of a bummer with no 10 core follow up and with the 11700k and 11900k being practically identical with a little overclock, it just didn't offer much.

I picked up the 10900F when it was on sale, quite the chip for the money.
