Can I plug front port USB 3.0 case connector into USB 2.0 Mobo header?

As title explains, can I plug my USB 3.0 case cable (Blue tipped cable) into the USB 2.0 headers on my mobo so i can at least use the front USB's?

I'm not worried about USB 3.0 speed until I get my new mobo and CPU but i just need front pot USB functionality at the moment

Unfortunately no. They are not compatible and won't fit onto the motherboard. 🙁

No you can't they aren't backwards compatible and port headers are different.
