Question Can I plug my GPU and not use it?

Pretty much what the title says, I wanna plug in my GPU into my motherboard, but the power supply isn't enough for the GPU, I already bought one but it hasn't arrived. Would it be possible to plug in the GPU into the motherboard and not use it at all? Or would that be dangerous?

You shouldnt do that, chances are the system wont properly boot (there are shutdown messages requiring the power cables).
What would you gain from having an unpowered card in the system anyway?

Your PC probably won't boot. And there could be some risk to your PC.

There is no reason to do it, so don't.

if you put a GPU in a PC without a proper PSU do no turn on the PC.
