Can I plug usb wifi adapter on usb otg and use it on my smartphone ?

I'm currently playing FIFA on android and it always requires internet connection to server but I need to go outside just to connect from my friends house. So is it possible to connect using wifi adapter and plug into usb otg and into my smartphone ?

Not gonna work. You would also need a driver to make the wifi adapter work, and they do not write them for android.
