i have a pentium g2010 processor. i am buying nvidia gt740 or gtx 750 hoping to play gta 5. i can only afford the graphics card and cant afford to buy a new pc now. so can i run gta 5 with given specs and 4 gb ram? i haver 720p screen also..

could you also say will g2010 bottleneck gtx750 or gt 740?

What if i go for an i3 of lga 1155 socket so i dont have to change my mobo?

Do not go for an i3, i3's are still dual cores. They are just dual cores with hyper threading. Go for the i5-3470 or something close to it.

This guy has an i3 and a nice graphics card and has to upgrade to an i5.
Your options are the i5-3333 , i5-3340 or i5-3470. If you have an motherboard that supports overclocking you can go for a i5-2500k.
Post what motherboard you have.

imho Haswell i3-4150 is still a strong gaming cpu. See:

"CPU Performance - gta-5-pc-benchmarks"
"Still, the higher-end FX models such as the FX-8350 and FX-9590 delivered reasonable performance despite being slower than the Core i3."

Another way to look at that is, look and see the i5-3470. It beats all of AMD cpu's and it matches the current motherboard he is using. Socket LGA 1155 (Which is the Pentium socket he has)

I see tons and tons of posts like this one

where the thing holding them back is an i3 with hyper threading.
Don't waste money on an i3 specially if you want to play GTA 5, you will be disappointed not having 4 true cores.

Thanks for the answers guys. So i will be getting a nvidia gtx 750 and an i5 possibly(i3 otherwise). What is your opinion about the radeon r7 250x vs gtx 750(non ti)
