Can I power a pc case without the motherboard

I'm trying to make laptop cluster, and i'm looking for a case that can be connect to the main laptop and turn on it's fans.

Unsure of what you're trying to build here.

Maybe a box, with some USB powered fans.
Turn on the main laptop, and the fans start up.
