Can i power up my computer without a cpu at all??

I have everything hooked up except my cpu and graphics card. Nothing starts up, not my fans, case, or drives. wondering if this is normal or i did something wrong or something isnt working

without a cpu the system will not post = not boot. its like putting gas in the car but the engine is still in the garage... it needs to be in to run

those are fine. my motherboards leds come on but nothing else.

just tested my power supply using a paperclip and works fine. not sure what else it could be

make and model of motherboard, cpu, power supply, video card and ram please.

got it figured out. had the power led, power and reset switch flipped the wrong way. Thanks for the advice though!

Building a computer and i just tested my power supply and it works fine but when i plug anything into my motherboard nothing starts up. Is my motherboard dead? the leds work on it but nothing plugged into it is working

List your full system spec, include psu make and model.
And don't try to power it on without everything.
