You can only use an M.2 SSD there... is it an M.2 SSD or is it a 2.5" SATA SSD?

If it's a 2.5" SATA SSD then you can only use the normal SATA data and power cable connections.

The A400 is a 2.5" drive.
You cannot use it in an m.2 port.

It is a SATA III drive.
It would give exactly the same performance as an entry level m.2 SATA III drive in the m.2 port.
