Hi everyone,
This probably is a really dumb question but I am installing a R7 265 in my sister's PC and she has it in stored in a cabinet and the air flow isn't the greatest,..I was wondering if I can lay it on it's side to help with the airflow?
My main worry is the disk writer working properly and if it will affect the hard drive any?
Thanks in advance !!

You have two things that will effect the PC by laying it on its side.

As stated the disk reader will no longer be usable for the mini-cds and even the full size CDs will require carefull insertion to avoid them slipping.

The case airflow is designed to go from cold intake at bottom to hot exhaust top because heat naturally rises. Now if you have sufficient cooling your case and fans will overcome this issue, but if your case/fans was already "working hard" to cool the system then putting it on its side could be the tipping point (no pun intended) that would cause the cpu or gpu to get too hot.
