Hey I'm currently living in a 2 story house my computer is on the second story while my router is on the first story. I wanted to know if i can move the router I have minimal knowledge about this. I have the router pluged in with my telephone in some sort of an adapter that goes in to a wall plug that is not for power upstairs i have a weird one and wanted to know if i can connect it to it i will put up a picture soon.

While your router will work upstairs it won't be as good as where it is now, they usually say it should be plugged into the "master socket" in your house for maximum speed. Your safest option would be to get a wireless USB dongle and plug it into the back of your computer upstairs and work off wireless assuming your router is a wireless one.

It depends on how your home's telephone wiring is configured, but in most cases a DSL modem can be plugged in to any telephone outlet. It won't hurt to temporarily move it and try it. The DSL filter (adapter) needs to be on any outlet with a phone connected. The modem itself does not need a filter, unless you have a telephone connected on the same outlet.

If it doesn't work, it's likely that it can be configured by ATT or someone knowledgeable about phone wiring.
