Can I put an SSD in a regular enclosure?

Hi,

So, my laptop have recently been unable to turn on due to me uninstalling something "too much". Now I get INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
And I can't even get it to safe mode.
Therefore, I'm thinking to do a factory reset on my computer. But to do so, I would first have to save my data.

So, I have an Asus GL551JM-EH71, it has a 256GB SSD which I believe is 2.5". I also have a regular USB 3.0 to SATA 2.5" Enclosure, more specifically the brand SIIG which I don't believe is optimized for SSDs.
But, can I safely put my SSD in this enclosure just so that I can transfer my files to another computer? Or would I have to buy a specialized enclosure for SSDs?

Thanks

It doens't really matter what enclosure you use, as long as the connection fits. Your SSD probably just has a SATA data and SATA Power connection. You could connect this to most desktop PC's internally, or if you have any USB to SATA data + power converter you'd probably be able to use it in another PC.

Another option is to create a bootable rescuedisk (for example: Hirens BootCD) and back-up your data to any other external device.
