Can I put different RAM sizes together?

I currently have a 2x4GB setup in my PC, and I would like to improve the amount. I want to get a 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance set (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233299) in addition the 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance set i already have. Would the different memory sizes between the 2 channels mess with eachother, or will it be just fine?
