can i put earphones in the jack my dvd drive has?

i don't know if components is the right place to class this as but

can i put earphones in the jack my dvd drive has?
i'm gonna put a second monitor on my pc and i want to sets of earphones just in case someone needs the pc the same time i do so i thought that putting in earphones in the dvd drive would work but i'm not getting sound out of it

your dvd drive has a headphone jack? If its not working then they probably aren't compatible.

You can always buy a cheap splitter, does your case only have one audio jack?

it has one at the back but at the moment i only have earphones which don't reach that far, and even when i tried using the one at the back it wasn't working. Do i have the enable in the motherboards BIOS?
