Hello, i was wondering if i can put more ram memory than my laptop supports, my device is an Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-51nz which currently has 8 gb in 1 stick plus 4 gb thats soldered to the MB, so i was wondering since a 16gb would get me to 20 gb, what could happen if i put a 32gb stick into my laptop that would get me to 36gb, i understand that max values are there for something, but what could happen if i do so?
would my laptop not work?
would only recognize 32gb only and ignore the rest?
the question is for what happens if i do so more than if i should do so.

Its interesting how no one really knows about this, you can find info in google about almost everything regarding overclocking and burning cpus and gpus but none about exceesing processor max ram. Gonna risk it and buy a 32gb ram stick and let you guys know what happened.
needing the 16gb for sure, but i want the 32gb

No one knows, because there is no singular answer.
