Can I Re-Use my HP HDD from My Current Desktop

Im doing a AMD system build and I need to Know if I can reuse my current HDD, and Put a Clean Install of Windows 8 on it and Have everything work fine, I really do not need a SSD, just to make things faster. Is it possible???

If it is sata - should work without problem - like you said - format & install.
