I am talking about a landline phone and fax on one line. I know i cant use the phone when incoming fax and i know when there an incoming call i cant receive fax.

What if i am on the phone and a fax comes in. Will i be able to receive the fax after i hang up the phone or will it just disappear? Can i receive fax while on the phone too?

Solution

Oh my that's a ripoff!

Consider this, if you have a stable broadband connection:
An Ooma for your main voice landline. $4/month. Connects to your router, and goes through the internet. More or less unlimited long distance.
You can even have 2 numbers on that.

I have one, 2 years now...zero problems.

Then, use your current Verizon line for the fax, and get rid of the extra lines.

The FAX machine will get a busy signal and hangup.

So what if the information is coming from a computer. Will the computer detect or person sending me stuff get a notification that their fax did not go through and that I did not receive the fax?

Thanks for the help

Internet is on a different frequency. You can receive an email while the phone is busy.

:??:
This has nothing to do with internet or email.

The FAX, whether it be from a dedicated fax machine or a computer, must make a connection before it starts to send anything.
As above....retries and call waiting may get around a busy signal.

The thing is when customers orders from online, i receive their order through fax. The fax is connected on the same line as my secondary phone. Calls usually take no more than 3 minutes. I just want to make sure I can still receive the order through fax after finishing the call.

My fax and secondary line isnt used much, so im thinking to get rid of my fax line and share my second line with the phone and fax.

Is there something I can get to make the fax wait or save so i can still receive it after my calls end? I barly get online order but just wanna make sure and know for in case.

What is this call waiting, how can i get this so I can make my fax wait after i finish my call

The fax waiting or retrying is their fax machine. Nothing you can do to change that.

Call waiting? Contact your phone company.
But how much does your second line cost? Prob no more than a couple of $$/month. How many orders might you lose by not getting a prompt fax?

My restaurant doesn't have internet access. We just have 3 phone lines. I was planning to get rid one line since my 2nd and fax line dont get used very often and switch to another phone provider. It would cost me 60 a month.

Your option seem very interesting. Im going to take a look at their site
