I'm encountering some weird boot problems and I'm wondering if I can flash my BIOS with the same version to fix the issue. Is it possible to do this? My board is a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P.
I used to have Gigabyte, they get kinda crabby in the bios when tinkering. Once you set em, they're awesome, they just hate being fiddled with. That's why I went Asus this build.
In the BIOS at the last tab usually there is a reset defaults option.
Also, clearing the CMOS just resets the BIOS to factory. Nothing to worry about.
YES! IT WORKED! I think my problem is fixed. What happened was I overclocked my CPU and changed the voltage a bit, and every time I restart my PC it would start up for one second, then shut down, and then start up again and boot normally. The only fix was to enable Turbo Core, but that causes my CPU to throttle. Resetting to defaults (in Gigabyte it's F7, reset optimized defaults or something like that if anyone is wondering) seems to have fixed this issue Thank you very much.

Yeah, I just learned that today 🙁 I won't be messing with my BIOS or overclocking anymore, that's for sure. Thank you for your time.
I'd still tinker myself, heck that's what factory defaults are for, don't give up 😀. That's a pretty universal option no matter what system you have btw, so if you ever get another brand you're still good !
