Right now im using a i5 4670k @4.2GHz @1.19v with an Artic Freezer i11 cpu cooler. When i game it usually maxes out at 45-50c. I wanted to see if removing my heatsink fan would reduce pc noise but im unsure whats a safe clock speed/voltage for a passively cooled cpu? im not planning do this forever just wanna test it for a few hours or so.

Solution
I wouldn't try it. Being only passively cooled w/ the heatsink and no fan, it will most likely shutoff after a short time(probably less than a minute) after powering up your PC. This is from the thermal protection kicking in.
Here's a thread from last year with some info about passive coolers for CPU's:

1LiquidPC is correct, it won't take long to shut down. There is the possibility that the CPU could be damaged.
A few posts in here have in mentioned "failure to boot" and the problem has been that the CPU Fan was not plugged in, so there is the possibility that your PC won't even boot without the heatsink fan plugged in.
