Can I remove my HDD (empty) without losing my windows data

So a couple months ago I reinstalled my computer. Now for about a week its been acting weird. Programs are constandly not responding and so is my editing software. I downloaded crystaldiskinfo and it tells me that my secondairy disk has a "Caution" status. There is littarly only a couple download pictures and video's on there so nothing important. Can I just take out this HDD and see if my computer runs better or would my windows go rip? Not sure, never tried it, just making sure as I have important data on my SSD (No bitcoins just footage).

Yes, you can unplug the SATA cable from the HDD and it wont have a negative impact on your system. You just wont see the drive and the data wont be available.

Hi crusialgamer1, what brand is the drive that is causing this problem? You may run the manufactures propitiatory software on it to determine the health of the drive. If you have a Seagate, run Seatools.

As a test, just unplug it.
See what happens.
