Hi there,

Recently my old MSI 970A - G46 motherboard died in an accident, and I needed to replace it.

I bought the Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2 as its replacement, and I was previously running Windows 7 home premium.

I also have an Fx 8350 as my CPU.

When I replace my mobo, will I need to reinstall the OS? I'm no sure If I still have my windows activation key, do I need that?

Will it delete all my memory?

Thanks.

It may boot up but you will have to change some drivers for new MB. W7 activation may be a problem though. Depending if they are OEM or Retail version you may need to enter registration or call MS to reactivate.
Unless you do clean install it will not delete your "memory" if by that you mean data on your HDD.
In any case, your FX 8350 will be much happier on that MB.
