Question Can i replace i5 2520m to i5 3210m?

Can i replace i5 2520m to i5 3210m? I mean it is the same socket and tdp, but is this possible? Laptop is Dell E5520

The BIOS would need to support it. Dell doesn't seem to have any literature available online regarding upgrades, so you'd basically have to try searching around to see if you can find someone who has reported successfully doing that upgrade to be sure it would work.

I'm not sure it's really worthwhile though, there won't be much performance difference between those two CPUs.

The difference between the two processors is so small that in no way justifies the change.

I5-2520M is Sandy Bridge and I5-3210M is Ivy Bridge (newer). Almost certainly, Dell has not updated the BIOS to support Ivy Bridge.
