Hello,

I got 1TB Toshiba HDD and I want to replace with 2TB Samsung SSD. Is it possible to replace 1TB with 2TB?

I got SATA III mount port.

And if i can then can i clone my recovery partition to new ssd?

Thank you

Solution
So your current C drive has approx 700GB actual used space?

To make this work, you need some external storage space with 700GB or more free space.
Or, a USB-SATA dock, to migrate directly tot he new 2TB.

Please post a screencap of your current Disk Management window.

Yes, what you seek can be done.
Do you have an external drive with 1TB or more free space?
Or a USB - SATA dock?
If so, you can clone the entirety of the current drive to the new 2TB.

I will replace my 1TB hdd and I plan to use 2TB as main storage for laptop. But I got 2 external hard drive.

If possible to replace then Thank you :)

If you have a desktop available with Macrium Reflect, you can (temp installing source disk and new destination disk) quite easily clone the image containing one or both partitions over to the new drive if that is what is desired using free Macrium Reflect...

As the drive needs to come out of the laptop anyway for replacement, this requires only access to a desktop and someone willing to temporarily let you slave in two drives and install Macrium Reflect, and, 50-60 minutes time or so...
