Can i replace my external hard disk casing?

Hello,

My external hard drive usb port is spoilt. The wires inside are bent and i cannot insert my usb wire inside the port. Im sure my data is safe inside. Can i change the external casing of the hard drive and replace it with a new one?

Yes you can and it's actually quite easy.

Do you know the make/model of the HDD inside? 3.5" or 2.5"? PATA/IDE or SATA?
