Hello,

Currently I have on my Desktop an GT 740 GPU.

I friend of mine looking to upgrade made me an offer to sell his GTX 1050 really cheap.

But my question is, can I simply remove my GT 740 and replace for the GTX 1050?

Does it require an connection from the Power Supply like some cards? I'm not completely sure if it has that connection.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure about the motherboard model.

Thank you.

My EVGA gtx 1050 (regular, not ftw edition or overclocked or anything) doesn’t need any power cables. Just be sure you have a sufficient psu. Without knowing the model of the mobo, I think it can be challenging to determine if yours is good to go, but since most mobos have at least one pcie x16 slot, I would assume you could swap it out. Just make sure the system is off during the swap and know what your system has so you can inspect the gpu and know if it will work out.
