Can I replace my Intel Celeron processor with an i3 processor keeping the same motherboard and stuff

This is my PC specs right now :
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU J1800 @2.41GHz,
2 GB installed RAM,
64 bit Operating System

I need to upgrade my PC a little bit to play DotA 2 which runs a little laggy right now.I figured if I replace the processor with an i3, the PC would become a little fast for playing the game.Would I have to also add an additional RAM along with i3? What do you suggest I best do?

No. Your current cpu is bga which means its soldered to the motherboard.

@bignastyid Ok so, I guess the option of replacing the processor is out the door. So what if, I add another 2GB RAM will that help in speeding up the PC in playing DOTA2 ?

4gb of ram is the minimum requirement for the game. However if you are using the integrated gpu the game is going to run poorly(if ot runs at all) as it does not meet the games minimum requirements.

what's the make and model of your laptop, it will define if you can even use 4gb or more with it.

@bignastyid So, I got an additional 2 GB RAM and plugged it in. DotA 2 runs a little less laggy now.
Can you tell me what GPU would be the best to buy given my specs? I need the game to run a little better
