Can I reuse my windows 8 key?

I'm building a new PC and getting the GPU, Mother board, and CPU tomorrow but I don't have a OS for it. The old Mobo I had (before this one) had winows 8, but upgraded to windows 10, and my current PC (different Mobo than the upgrade, but same HDD) has windows 10.

If I wipe the HDD (which i plan to do) would it be possible to reuse the winows 8.1 key (I bought it from a retailer, wasnt pre installed or anything) on the new Mobo/ 'new' HDD?

The windows 8 I have has a 64bit disc and a 32, on the product key it says "Keep this incase you need to reinstall windows 8.1. not labeled for individual sale"

Would I be able to just use the card and key again?

Just try it.
OEM version you can't transfer to another PC.
Retail version - you can.
