can I route a dvi-d through the back of my PC into the monitor

I recently bought an HDMI to DVI-D adapter to connect a PS3 to my monitor. However, in my coffee-fueled haste I neglected to make sure that my monitor connection was in fact, DVI-D. It isnt, turns out its AVI, after some scrounging around i found that my computer has a DVI-D connection in the back. Is there a way that i can run the connection through my PC to the monitor?

No. What you have on your PC as DVI is output for compatible monitor.
There are HDMI-to-VGA adapters for about $20, but I don't know how good they are with fact-paced action.
