Can I Run 1440p?

I'm thinking of upgrading my monitor from a 1080p to a 1440p. Specifically this one: ASUS ROG Swift PG27VQ 27”.

This is my rig:

Intel i5-8400 CPU
16 GB RAM
MSI GTX 1080ti

I want to achieve at least 60 FPS and target 100+ FPS.

Yes, 1080ti can do 1440p 144Hz gaming for sure.
165 not so sure, for that you need probably 8600k

I see almost no difference between 100 and 144 or higher, so as long as I'm hitting 90-100 I'm good. Now, 60 vs 100 I see a clear difference.

Also, I've heard this monitor had problems in the past. Does anyone know if that's been sorted out? I really like this monitor and G-Sync is a must but I don't want to buy a lemon.

Living in US? May look at other options for you. Budget is like $800?
