[SOLVED] Can I run 144Hz through a DVI-D to HDMI adapter plugged into the GPU?

I am planning to buy a 144Hz monitor and I'm wondering if 144Hz will work through a DVI-D to HDMI adapter plugged in the GPU? I know 144Hz works through DVI-D cable, just not sure if adapter and monitor HDMI input would make it work.
GPU has only one output and it is DVI-D. Also don't want to switch to a full DVI-D cable as i often connect the PC to the TV, and for that I need HDMI

If the monitor supports 144 Hz over HDMI, then yes.
