Can I run 144hz through a DVI-I Connector with a DVI-D Cable?

Solution

Yes it can be done, both DVI-D ports and DVI-I ports can provide the Dual-Link DVI signal that you need, but I would not advise it.
You really should not buy the GN246HL if you are planning on running multiples of them... It only runs 144 Hz over DL-DVI, which is being phased out, and it is virtually impossible to get an adapter that works for that. It is not a good idea to invest in 3 of those when there are other options like the G2460PF which are usually around the same price, and is a far superior monitor.

Actually, I was considering that monitor. But the price is very random. And could go up anytime. So I'm asking this question as a plan B.

Okay thanks! Though, I am gonna try to go with the G2460PF. But as long the price don't change drastically.
