can I run a 230v PSU in 220v electricity source in Egypt.

Hi there .
I have a cooler master elite V2 500 watt
And at the back of it there is a lable said that its a 230v only no switch found.
I'M in Egypt our electricity source is 220v .??
So is there any problems when I turned it on ?
BTW when I touched my case I get very little electric shock barley I can feel it . what is the problem ?
 
Solution
220V, 230V, and 240V are all 'close enough'. Your electricity provider can't deliver it exactly for various reasons; it's normally within about 10% of what it's supposed to be.

As for the electric shock, that normally means that your electrical socket isn't grounded probably. This really should be fixed ASAP.

I had a similar prob years ago, when I had a P4 system. I could brush my arm along the case and feel tingles. But it wasnt strong enough to kill you.

Later I found out that the earth wire had come out of the power point it was plugged into

This not only killed the CPU (which Intel replaced for free).

It also killed everything else that that power point was wired to (the stereo, (the DVD on the stereo no longer worked) the fridge I had at the time ( that I had to replace)) and the washing machine.

I had to replace the main PCB in the washing machine, because it fried it

So I would plug it into another power point and see if you get the same thing.

If you dont then ring an electrician and get them to fix the power point
