Ok well, so i've been running a Galaxy GT 610 for a while now and I think it's time to upgrade a bit. I found a good graphics card I want, a EVGA GeForce GT 740, but the thing says I need a minimum PSU of 12v current and a 400w. The one graphics card I have needs a 340w but I'm still able to use it just fine and works quite well. But im wondering if my 12v current 240w will still be able to run the grapichs card. I really do want this graphics card. But if it doesn't work could someone point me to a LOW PROFILE graphics card for around 10-90 bucks, thats better than my Galaxy GT 610? Thanks!

To be honest im a bit confused, so ur saying i could? I dont really have a power hungry cpu (its just a Intel core2 quad cure 2.66ghz) and i have a small 360gb hard drive plus a 4 sticks of ram (2 1gbs and 2 2gbs) and thats all really. Again my PSU is onyl 240w with a 12v current. So again im a bit confused with the response (srry not the best with tech stuff)

Yes I know but, the Gddr5 memory is quit a bit better than standard ddr5 ( i mean quite a bit better) Then its quite a bit cheaper than this one aswell . Also what is the difference between the GT 740 and the GT 730? Is there a big difference in preformance wise or anything?

Personally, I wouldn't try a GTX 740 on a 250 watt power supply, but you're welcome to try. Were it me, I'd upgrade the power supply to a higher wattage and a quality brand (e.g. EVGA, Seasonic, etc)

GTX 740 GDDR5 - 380 watt PS recommended. 1 six pin power connector
GTX 740 - 350 watt PS recommended. 0 six pin power connector (PCIe slot only)
