can i run a gtx 1070 with an i5 7400?

i currently have an i5 7400 and a gtx 1050 ti and i'm planning on upgrading to a 1070. ive seen some pre-built PCs that use this exact combination of a 7400 and 1070 so that would lead me to think that they would work perfectly fine however then i see a document that shows what CPUs will bottleneck the 1070. on the document it showed that the 7400 would bottleneck under a worst case scenario how ever then doesnt really tell me anything useful since i dont know what the worst case scenario would be.

basically all i need to know is will the 7400 be powerful enough to not bottleneck the 1070 and if it isnt powerful enough under what conditions would you say it would start to be bottlenecked?

It will be fine, the 7400 is easily a potent enough processor.

What resolution? At 1080p there are several newer AAA games where your cpu will be the limiting factor but not to the point the game is unplayable and you will still get good average FPS. At 1440p any cpu limitation will be far smaller or non existent.

Depends on the game, resolution, hertz and frame rates. Typically the i5 should do alright but it may lack in multi threaded games capable of using more cores trying to achieve more than 60fps in either 1080p or 1440p.
