So I was wondering if I would be able to run a HD 5850 on 430W PSU, it has 28 Amps on the single 12V Rail, which i heard was better than two lower amped dual 12V rails, I was hoping to Unlock my CPU(Will list soon-to-be specs of PC later), and if not, I would at least want to overclock it, though on stock voltage, I was hoping to use a two 4pin Molex to 8pin adapter and take away the two extra pins to plug into the card as the CX430 only has one 6pin though the HD 5850 needs two.I can't change PSU, as it comes pre-built with he rest of the PC.

System Specs :

CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 450 (3x 3.2GHz) 4000MT, 1.5mb
CPU Cooler - Standard AMD CPU Cooler
Case - Cooler Master Elite 342
Power Supply - 430w Corsair
Motherboard - Asrock 880GMH/USB3
Memory - 4gb Kingston DDR3 1333mhz
Hard Drive 1 - 500gb SATA II Hard Drive
Optical Drive 1 - Dual Layer DVDRW Drive
Graphics - HD 5850

No, even though not listed i would think the power pulled by your cpu would alone be around 95w~ 125w at full load.

My friend, that 500w psu would be enough for a full load 5850.If he were to upgrade i would go for a crossfire setup 700w.
But his mobo has only one pci e lane.

are you sure, my friend had that card, its that dual core card right, and he said he needed an 800 watt psu or something. He said it came otu recently but his job allowed him to have a test run of it or something at his job area.

If you wish.Sure it might work i cant say it wont.
But i dont want you to damage your system.
Remember also the test just tested the gpu at loads. It didnt test the cpu+gpu at full loads.
