System specs at the moment

2x 7500rpm 500gb sata HDD
2x4gb patriot ddr3 1600mhz

Corsair cx750m PSU
Case is a gigabyte gz-g2 running 3x 120mm fans on PSU molex and 1x80mm

The PSU worries me a bit as it states 750w minimum thanks for ure help in advance

Solution
It should be fine, I'm running 2 280xs on a 850watt power supply. The CPU is an overclocked i5-2500K. It's only about 250watts per card.
Your PSU should be plenty, but I would consider getting a 285, as it has less power consumption and very similar performance, The Cpu should be fine, but it will hold you back in games, I would stick to Sapphire brand wise, as they make the best AMD cards usually.

When they put a PSU requeriments they are already very conservative, if they set a 750w probably you could run that card for sure with "only" a 600-650w but they only make a safe bet.

For example a r9 280x have a gamming compsumption of 257w a 750w PSU give 500w to the rest of the system that is just disproportionate.

AMD always overstate their cards TDP/Power supply requirements

and the R9 280X will at least give u 10 more frames the R9 285 is more comparable to the R9 280 aka 7950 the R9 280X has the same power as a 7970 only it has a more efficient chip R9 280X>Tahiti TXT instead of Tahiti TX found in the 7970

in a nutshell: yes your PSU is good Yes u can run the card However u need to Overclock that CPU or u will see some bottlnecking

I will avoid any Corsair PSU that contains ' c ' in its model name like cx and also the vs is not good enough. They use poor capacitors and transformer. They can fry your gpu and mobo. Better option is to get a good PSU. I will recommend Seasonic or evga as they have great capacitors and transformer which is great for gaming as well as overclocking. .... :)
