Can I run a R9 295x2 with a Corsair AX860?

I might in the next few months purchase a 295x2, and while reading up on them came across its obvious huge power demands which I figured it would, but I also came across a LinusTechTips video on youtube where he made a video on the the 295x2 (I will put a link below) and he talks about some rather specific an unusual power requirements for it. Now I have built a few rigs and tinkered around with them on many occasion. So I like to think I know a bit more about computers than the average end user. But I am a complete blithering idiot when it comes to most things to do with electricity (current, amps, volts, ohms... )

So If I do get one can my AX860 handle it or would I also need to get another power supply? I would think my AX860 should be able to as it's a pretty high end PSU, but again the blithering idiot part lol

I suppose I could just get another PSU I can dedicated to the 295x2 as my case supports multiple PSU's, but would rather not if I don't have to, especially given how much a 295x2 costs to begin with lol

You're going to be right at the minimum. You should be fine, but don't expect to do a lot of heavy overclocking.


Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:
AMD R9-295x2 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 850~1000 Watt power supply unit.
AMD R9-295x2 Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 1250 or higher Watt power supply unit as minimum.
If you are going to overclock GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.
