So I had decided to image my C: and H: (System reserved) drives onto my External HDD but after 127 GB out of 141 GB was done, it got an error and stopped and told me to run Chkdsk. I have run it and it's been aournd 6-7 hours now and it is stuck on a single file on stage 4. I read in a couple of forums and they said mechanical failure including bad usb cable could be the reason. But I can transfer and read files normally from the disk despite the cable being torn (the plastic insulation only, the internal wires are okay or so I think)
