I wanted to know if I could run a certain game and hoped someone can advise: https://www.systemrequirementslab.c...ragon-quest-xi-echoes-of-an-elusive-age/17664
I downloaded the 'can I run it' app and it said I couldn't:

'Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750Ti / AMD Radeon RX 470 You Have: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series
Your graphics driver is over 15 months out-of date
Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card Required You Have Pass Pixel Shader 5.0 5.1 Pass Vertex Shader 5.0 5.1 Pass Dedicated Video RAM 2048 MB 2.0 GB'

The thing is this is the only game I want to run lol, and I didn't wanna buy a new GPU just for one game. When I compare my GPU: AMD Radeon R9 285 against GTX 750Ti in benchmarks they all show that mine performs better. (The only thing it wins from what I see is the clock speed 1020 MHz vs 918 MHz for mine) Since it's listed as the minimum requirement for NVIDIA do you think it's worth it buying the game and trying anyway? I don't mind if it doesn't perform well, as long as it's playable (it's turn based combat anyway) and I can try overclocking if necessary.
My only concern with overclocking is that it would lower the GPU lifespan, but would this be the case just by overclocking it or only when I actually use the extra power for something? I don't plan on playing other games with similar requirements.

You might be able to play the game but playable frame rates will probably be lower than you want it to be. You might even have to cut down on resolution to play the game. Also, the GPU you have is on par with a GTX1050 per this hierarchy chart but it's below the RX card listed in the requirements for the game.
Thanks for the list. Mine's ranked quite a bit above the GTX 750 Ti minimum requirement, so I don't get why the AMD equivalent minimum is ranked so much higher? How accurate are these sites/apps, is there a bit of leeway sometimes?

I don't mind playing it at low res/fps but how low are we talking do you think (potentially), to give me a rough idea?

Also is it worth OC the gpu and how much difference do you think it would make? I've never OC anything lol how much will it affect the lifespan of the GPU?

If a 750 Ti can run it, you ought to be fine; it's not a particularly GPU intense game. Are you getting it on Steam? Steam games have a timeframe to make a return, so the best guess would be to simply buy it and then return it if it doesn't run well on what you have.
